VIP announces our 3rd Crop for a Cause in August: “Support Our Scrap Sister!”

The VIP family is honored to support one of our friends and “scrap sister,” Shannon Kelley. Shannon has recently been diagnosed with colon cancer.

Shannon was just diagnosed in July. She has recently undergone surgery to remove a portion of her colon and will now begin six months of chemotherapy. Shannon is 33 years old and the mother of three children. (Brynne 4 ½, Brooklynn 3 ½, and Drew 16 months) She is married to Chad Kelley and lives in Pine Island. She has been a 4th grade teacher at Washington Elementary in Rochester for the past 10 years. Shannon tells us that her team at Mayo Clinic has been wonderful. The team is very optimistic and have chosen to be really aggressive with her treatment. The six months of chemo will consist of 48 hr. treatments every two weeks. Shannon and her family are unsure of what this means for her working this year.

In the meantime, VIP would like to help her family by raising money various ways.

* During the month of August we are selling “Scrap Sister” cut-outs to be hung on our window. You can show your support for Shannon by purchasing one for a $1 or $5 donation.

* Starting Aug. 10th, VIP will be holding a Silent Auction in our store. Stop by to see the great items available to bid on. Bidding will end on Monday, August 31st at 9:00 pm.

* Join us for “Crop For a Cause” on Friday, Aug. 21st and/or Saturday, Aug. 22nd. Friday includes dinner and prizes and goes until midnight, cost is $15. Saturday includes lunch, dinner and prizes, 9:00 am until midnight, cost is $30. $5 of your fee automatically goes to our collection for Shannon.

* Shop with us Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday (Aug. 21, 22, 23)!! On these days we will give you a total purchase discount for each dollar you donate. Ex: Donate $5, get 5% off. Good for any amount $1 to $50!
